Ben, a former NBL and USA High School and College player with a lifetime of basketball experience, is gearing up for the Pan Pacs Masters Games for the over 50s this November. To help prepare for this prestigious event, Ben is seeking some friendly competition and motivation. This event is all about good spirits and fun, with Ben challenging himself and others to up their shooting skills. 🎯💪

Ben will be reaching out to respected figures in the basketball community through social media, calling out players he admires. This challenge is designed to be motivating and enjoyable, not spiteful. It’s a great opportunity for players to engage in friendly competition while supporting Ben’s preparation efforts. 🙌🔥

Can you shoot better than an Old Man?

How It Works

  1. The Challenge:
    • Each participant will take 100 shots, aiming to make as many as possible. The challenge includes two rounds of 10 shots each from five different spots: Corner, Wing, Point, Wing, and Corner.
    • You’ll have a rebounder assisting you, and you’ll alternate shooting 10 shots at a time with your opponent 
  2. Competition Format:
    • Bracket of 4 Shooters: The event features a knockout format with four selected shooters.
    • Preliminary Rounds: Participants compete in knockout rounds to determine which shooter will compete in the final round.
    • Finals: The top shooter will face Ben in the grand final.

How to Get Involved:

  • Social Media Call-Out: Ben will announce the challenge on social media, calling out basketball figures he respects. Two of these individuals will enter the main draw.
  • Public Nominations: The general public can nominate participants. Two nominees will be selected for the main draw.
  • Panel Selection: A panel of three judges will select four participants they believe are worthy competitors.
  • Participants: must be 18 yrs or older as of November 2024.

Event Schedule

  1. Check-In and Warm-Up: Arrive early to check in, warm up, and get ready for the challenge.
  2. Round 1: Participants will shoot in knockout rounds.
  3. Grand Final: The top shooter will face off against Ben Osborne in the grand final.

Prizes and Recognition

  • Winner’s Prize: The ultimate bragging rights and a special prize for the top shooter.
  • Recognition: Top performers will be featured on our website and social media platforms.
