REP trials are competitive. Spots are limited. The truth? Most players focus on the wrong things: height, highlight plays, or who’s watching. The players who actually get picked? They master what they can control.

If you’re just starting out, check out our MiniBall and Foundation programs to build those fundamentals early.

What Coaches Really Notice
REP coaches aren’t just looking for the tallest kid or the flashiest scorer. They’re looking for two-way players, athletes who hustle, defend, and make smart decisions.

The Controllables
You can’t control how tall you are.
You can’t control who else turns up at trials.
But you can control:

  • Effort – Compete on every play.

  • Attitude – Positive, coachable energy.

  • Hustle – Dive for loose balls, sprint in drills, and do the little things that show you care.

Why It Matters
REP coaches value players who make their team better. When they see effort and focus in the controllables, they see a player they can trust, and that often makes the difference between making the team or missing out.
