Great athletes don’t just show up to training, they think about how they’re improving.

Reflection is one of the most powerful tools for youth athletes because it builds awareness, confidence, and accountability.

Here are five questions every serious athlete should ask themselves daily.

1. What did I do today that moved me forward?
Progress doesn’t have to be big. It could be effort in training, listening to coaching, or practicing at home.

2. What did I waste time or energy on?
Distractions slow development. Serious athletes learn to protect their time and focus on improvement.

3. What did I learn about myself today?
Basketball teaches more than skills — it teaches mindset, resilience, and confidence.

4. What can I do better tomorrow?
Improvement comes from small adjustments made consistently.

5. Who or what filled my cup today?
Great teammates, great coaching, and great effort make the journey sustainable.
