Every parent has seen it.
A young child steps on the court and immediately starts shooting three-pointers like Steph Curry or Caitlin Clark. It looks impressive, until you watch how they’re doing it.
Most young players simply don’t have the strength to shoot from long range with proper mechanics. So instead, they develop shortcuts just to get the ball to the rim. Thumb flicks. Shot-put pushes. Hitched releases.
These habits don’t come from bad coaching. They come from kids trying to survive shots they’re not ready to take yet.
At ProBall, we focus on building shooting the right way from the start.
We teach the B.E.E.F. system:
Balance.
Eyes.
Elbow.
Follow-through.
And we follow a simple rule:
Master the 5-foot shot before chasing the 20-foot shot.
We start kids at the rim. They make five shots. Step back. Make five more. Step back again. When the form breaks, they step back in and fix it.
That’s how range is earned.
That’s how confidence is built.
And that’s how good shooters are created.
